About Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC)

and Outdoor First Care (OFC)

Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) and Outdoor First Care (OFC) are the first aid standards of training taught by the National Ski Patrol. All ski patrollers at Spring Mountain must be certified as OEC Technicians and refresh annually to wear the uniform and patrol. All mountain hosts at Spring Mountain must be certified as OFC Technicians and refresh annually to wear the patch and patrol.

OEC at Spring Mountain

An OEC class is taught annually at Spring Mountain. Usually the class runs from the beginning of September through December. It meets Wednesday evenings and every other Saturday days.
