Join The Spring Mountain Ski Patrol

The Spring Mountain Ski Patrol welcomes anyone who wishes to become a member. If you like skiing or snowboarding, helping people, and camaraderie, then patrolling is for you!
We have openings! We provide training! We accept transfers from other patrols!

Volunteer Application Form


Qualifications

  • Alpine skier, telemark skier, or snowboarder.
  • At least 15 years old to start training.
  • Able to ski or ride all trails at Spring Mountain Ski Area.
  • Able to pass a PA State Police Background check.
  • Clean PA Child Abuse Clearance.

Commitment

  • One to two shifts per week
  • One off-season work session
  • Annual refreshers for OEC, OET, lift evacuation
  • Annual CPR Recertification
  • Purchase equipment, uniform, initial OEC kit
  • Annual dues

Training

  • Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC): First aid
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer: We do not provide this training.
  • Outdoor Emergency Transportation (OET): Rescue toboggan

OEC and CPR are the minimum training required.
You do not have to train with us.
